Chapter 14 An Icey Ascent and an Enclave of Elephants

In the frozen lands of southern Gaos the Croisant chugged downstream towards the Northen coast and towards the legendary location of a temple built by the followers of Enlil, the God of spring. Pibble, Ra’Cheep and Flow brought Jimathoy and Rose along with them to climb from the riverbed up into the high frosty mountains expecting a 2-3 day journey into the cold.

It started off very cold as almost everyone had trouble crossing the ice to the shore. After drying off and warming up everyone began hiking. Past wolves and abandoned homes and broken bridges, past snowy passes and peaks, through and avalanche and finally to a frozen stone building atop a forgotten peak.

Ra’Cheep and Pibble peaked inside and found a frozen well and an ancient statue. After offering a few berries as a gift to the statue a massive ice creature pulled itself from the well. Immediately Ra’Cheep, Pibble and Jimathoy attacked the beast and a brief battle ensued until Rose simply asked the creature what it does. It responded that it tended the temple and wasn’t always frozen. Rose asked it’s name and before long Rose and the creature were chatting away as the other’s stared in disbelief. This creature called itself “Lily” a daughter of the God of Spring. After some apologizing and convincing She opened a portal to the Land of Spring.
