Cassius had finally fallen! Our heroes had won the day but around the island the fighting continued so they spread the word as quickly as they could. They tried to convince the Hurnfell soldiers to surrender and serve “The only Hurnfell that remained”. Several were convinced and decided to stop fighting. The whirlpool around the island became very fierce as Idya mourned the loss of yet another of her champions, the whirlpool destroyed many of the remaining Hurnfellian vessels. Flow was asked by the druids to help calm the waters.
When the chaos finally died down Ra’Cheep challenged Devi and Pibble to a race back to the Croisant. Pibble caught a ride with Caylx, Ra’Cheep transformed into a Roc to keep up, and then Devi launched multiple spells and attacks to try to beat Ra’Cheep. Pibble won the race.
Once reunited with the crew of the Croisant the paddleboat began heading down the Inaan River towards the location of an ancient temple to Inleal, the God of Spring. While on their journey Devi asked Ra’Cheep to cast “Awaken” again, but this time on a baby duckling. Ra’Cheep and Devi found a sad lost soul that wanted to live again and so it was allowed to enter the duckling. Unfortunately the next day the crew met a starving freezing band of refugees on the bank of the river and invited them aboard. One of them was the mother of the human child that had died…. and been brought back as a duckling. This caused quite a bit of confusion especially because this band of refugees did not speak any modern languages, only broken primordial.
With these strange events behind them our Heroes prepared to find an ancient temple and hopefully meet with the elephants in the land of spring.
